Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2002 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work House on the Beach by David Michael Shannon. The price achieved of AUD 2,350.00 (€ 1,325.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by David Michael Shannon have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (City) in August 2003 with an auction result of AUD 15,275.00 (€ 9,023.73).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2002 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit House on the Beach von David Michael Shannon zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 2.350,00 (€ 1.325,25) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Michael Shannon auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (City) im August 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 15.275,00 (€ 9.023,73).
