Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Policemen'S Hill by David Michael Shannon was sold in the COLES MYER COLLECTION auction at Christies in Melbourne in November 2004. The price achieved of AUD 3,824.00 (€ 2,227.37) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by David Michael Shannon have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (City) in August 2003 with an auction result of AUD 15,275.00 (€ 9,023.73).
