Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by David Whittaker achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Paris in December 2018. In the Post-war and contemporary art - vente du jour auction, the work Boys Ascends sold for EUR 52,500.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 25,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by David Whittaker; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Self Portrait Four, Jewel Box (The Broads, Thunder Showers, Late Afternoon, A Young Girl in Reflection, Poetics of the Past Never Forgotten) sold at auction in March 2018 with the realized price of GBP 81,250.00 (€ 92,507.61).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von David Whittaker erzielte im Dezember 2018 bei Christies in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-war and contemporary art - vente du jour wurde die Arbeit Boys Ascends für EUR 52.500,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 25.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von David Whittaker; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Self Portrait Four, Jewel Box (The Broads, Thunder Showers, Late Afternoon, A Young Girl in Reflection, Poetics of the Past Never Forgotten) im März 2018 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 81.250,00 (€ 92.507,61).
