In January 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction All That Is Glorious Around Us: Property from an Important American Collector, which included the work Evening In An Adirondack Lake by David Johnson. The »bidding war« ended at USD 13,750.00 (€ 12,395.20), 38% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Johnson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View From New Windsor, Hudson River in May 2012 with an auction result of USD 722,500.00 (€ 584,357.81).

Im Januar 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion All That Is Glorious Around Us: Property from an Important American Collector durch, in der auch die Arbeit Evening In An Adirondack Lake von David Johnson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 13.750,00 (€ 12.395,20) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Johnson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit View From New Windsor, Hudson River im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 722.500,00 (€ 584.357,81).
