In April this year Bonhams held the auction The Marine Sale, which included the work Crashing waves with boats in the distance by David James. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,187.50 (€ 3,632.71), 59% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David James achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cornish Rollers in December 2017 with an auction result of GBP 75,000.00 (€ 84,401.51).

Im April diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion The Marine Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Crashing waves with boats in the distance von David James zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.187,50 (€ 3.632,71) und damit 59% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David James erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Cornish Rollers im Dezember 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 75.000,00 (€ 84.401,51).
