The work Plunging seas by David James was sold in the The Marine Sale auction at Bonhams in London in April last year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 58,260.00 (€ 69,472.99), 66% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by David James; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Cornish Rollers sold at auction in December 2017 with the realized price of GBP 75,000.00 (€ 84,401.51).

Die Arbeit Plunging seas von David James wurde im April letzten Jahres in der Auktion The Marine Sale bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 58.260,00 (€ 69.472,99) und damit 66% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von David James; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Cornish Rollers im Dezember 2017 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 75.000,00 (€ 84.401,51).
