Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A squally day off the Cornish coast by David James was sold in the The Marine Sale auction at Bonhams in London in October last year. The price achieved of GBP 1,785.00 (€ 2,079.51) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David James achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cornish Rollers in December 2017 with an auction result of GBP 75,000.00 (€ 84,401.51).

Die Arbeit A squally day off the Cornish coast von David James wurde im Oktober letzten Jahres in der Auktion The Marine Sale bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.785,00 (€ 2.079,51) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David James erzielen.
