Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2009 Sothebys in London held the auction Scottish Pictures, which included the work The Fishermen'S Rest, Berwick by David Farquharson. The price achieved of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,174.12) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Farquharson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Morning Breeze, Dordrecht, which sold at auction in October 2004 for GBP 16,730.00 (€ 24,079.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2009 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Scottish Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Fishermen'S Rest, Berwick von David Farquharson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.174,12) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von David Farquharson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Morning Breeze, Dordrecht beobachtet, die im Oktober 2004 für GBP 16.730,00 (€ 24.079,07) versteigert wurde.
