Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Children Playing, Mount Casino, c. 1948; Two Boys on Staircase, Vienna, 1947; and Children Playing, Venice, 1948 by David Seymour was auctioned at Christies in New York in February 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,160.00 (€ 1,632.65) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Seymour - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Prostitute near the Krupp works, West Germany, Essen, which sold at auction in March 2010 for GBP 5,250.00 (€ 5,894.31).
