In August 2004 Christies in Sydney held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Giddy Up by David Bromley. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 15,535.00 (€ 9,016.50), 55% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by David Bromley; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Afternoon Tea Boy sold at auction in November 2016 with the realized price of GBP 10,250.00 (€ 12,093.99).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 55 % übertroffen
Im August 2004 führte Christies in Sydney die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Giddy Up von David Bromley zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 15.535,00 (€ 9.016,50) und damit 55% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von David Bromley; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Afternoon Tea Boy im November 2016 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 10.250,00 (€ 12.093,99).
