Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Midday meal by David Adolph Constant Artz was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2001, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 9,400.00 (€ 10,452.57). Admittedly, works by David Adolph Constant Artz have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work First love in October 2000 with an auction result of NLG 87,765.00 (€ 42,124.30).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Midday meal von David Adolph Constant Artz im Oktober 2001 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 9.400,00 (€ 10.452,57) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Adolph Constant Artz auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit First love im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 87.765,00 (€ 42.124,30).
