This artwork by David Adolph Constant Artz achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Amsterdam in April 2009. In the 19th Century European Paintings auction, the work Dutch Watching The Ships Return sold for EUR 36,750.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 20,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by David Adolph Constant Artz; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot First love sold at auction in October 2000 with the realized price of NLG 87,765.00 (€ 42,124.30).

Dieses Kunstwerk von David Adolph Constant Artz erzielte im April 2009 bei Sothebys in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 19th Century European Paintings wurde die Arbeit Dutch Watching The Ships Return für EUR 36.750,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 20.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von David Adolph Constant Artz; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit First love im Oktober 2000 mit dem Hammerpreis von NLG 87.765,00 (€ 42.124,30).
