Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Memorial Day Run, Milwaukee, 1966 by Danny Lyon. The price achieved of USD 7,560.00 (€ 7,153.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Danny Lyon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Conversations with the Dead, 1967-1968 in October 2006 with an auction result of USD 114,000.00 (€ 89,250.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Memorial Day Run, Milwaukee, 1966 von Danny Lyon zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 7.560,00 (€ 7.153,67) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Danny Lyon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Conversations with the Dead, 1967-1968 im Oktober 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 114.000,00 (€ 89.250,76).
