Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian Street Scene by Danila Vassilieff was sold in the Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works auction at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 26,400.00 (€ 15,786.58) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Danila Vassilieff have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2001 the work Newsboy was auctioned for AUD 37,600.00 (€ 21,838.89).
