Signed and numbered '1/3 A.P.' in blue ink on the accompanying Certificate of Authenticity (an artist's proof set, the edition comprised 15 colour variants), published by Edition Schellmann, Cologne and New York. Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Daniel Buren achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in January 2024. In the Evening & Day Editions auction, the work 25 Enamel Plates, from Wall Works sold for GBP 35,560.00 (€ 59,515.29) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Daniel Buren achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Peinture Aux Formes Indéfinies in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 2,175,000.00 (€ 1,950,847.61).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Daniel Buren erzielte im Januar 2024 bei Phillips in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Evening & Day Editions wurde die Arbeit 25 Enamel Plates, from Wall Works für GBP 35.560,00 (€ 59.515,29) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Daniel Buren erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Peinture Aux Formes Indéfinies im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.175.000,00 (€ 1.950.847,61).
