Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Damrong Wong-Uparaj achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2015. In the Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) auction, the work Blue Abstract sold for HKD 437,500.00 (€ 53,434.48) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 200,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Damrong Wong-Uparaj; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Traditional Houses on Stilts, 1962 sold at auction in March 2019 with the realized price of HKD 875,625.00 (€ 99,353.96).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Damrong Wong-Uparaj erzielte im November 2015 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) wurde die Arbeit Blue Abstract für HKD 437.500,00 (€ 53.434,48) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 200.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Damrong Wong-Uparaj; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Traditional Houses on Stilts, 1962 im März 2019 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 875.625,00 (€ 99.353,96).
