Auction result misses estimated price range
In February 2010 a collector was able to acquire the work The Bowl Of Hygeia And The Serpent Of Epidaurus by Damien Hirst for GBP 27,500.00 (€ 30,678.81). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 30,000.00 – 40,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Damien Hirst achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lullaby Spring in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 9,652,000.00 (€ 14,323,082.54).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Februar 2010 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Bowl Of Hygeia And The Serpent Of Epidaurus von Damien Hirst für GBP 27.500,00 (€ 30.678,81) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Damien Hirst erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Lullaby Spring im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.652.000,00 (€ 14.323.082,54).
