In May 2014 Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included the work El canalizo #2 by Damián González. The »bidding war« ended at USD 35,000.00 (€ 25,659.82), 59% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Damián González - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Islote en la niebla, which sold at auction in May 2010 for USD 68,500.00 (€ 55,380.39).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 59 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2014 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit El canalizo #2 von Damián González zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 25.659,82) und damit 59% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Damián González mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Islote en la niebla beobachtet, die im Mai 2010 für USD 68.500,00 (€ 55.380,39) versteigert wurde.
