In May 2011 Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Sale, which included the work Historia de la lluvia by Damián González. The »bidding war« ended at USD 32,500.00 (€ 22,607.12), 48% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Damián González - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Islote en la niebla, which sold at auction in May 2010 for USD 68,500.00 (€ 55,380.39).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 48 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2011 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Historia de la lluvia von Damián González zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 22.607,12) und damit 48% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Damián González mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Islote en la niebla beobachtet, die im Mai 2010 für USD 68.500,00 (€ 55.380,39) versteigert wurde.
