This artwork by Elizabeth Violet Blackadder achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Edinburgh in May 2021. In the Scottish Art auction, the work White Cupboard sold for GBP 10,837.50 (€ 12,609.68) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Elizabeth Violet Blackadder - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cats And Orchids, which sold at auction in May 2012 for GBP 37,250.00 (€ 46,411.86).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 81 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Elizabeth Violet Blackadder erzielte im Mai 2021 bei Bonhams in Edinburgh einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Scottish Art wurde die Arbeit White Cupboard für GBP 10.837,50 (€ 12.609,68) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Elizabeth Violet Blackadder mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cats And Orchids beobachtet, die im Mai 2012 für GBP 37.250,00 (€ 46.411,86) versteigert wurde.
