The »bidding war« ended at GBP 15,360.00 (€ 15,360.00), 54% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Elizabeth Violet Blackadder - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cats And Orchids, which sold at auction in May 2012 for GBP 37,250.00 (€ 46,411.86).

Die Arbeit Tulips and Camellias von Elizabeth Violet Blackadder wurde im September diesen Jahres in der Auktion Blazing a TrailModern British Women bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 15.360,00 (€ 15.360,00) und damit 54% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Elizabeth Violet Blackadder mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cats And Orchids beobachtet, die im Mai 2012 für GBP 37.250,00 (€ 46.411,86) versteigert wurde.
