This artwork by Dale William Nichols achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in October 2018. In the American Art auction, the work Spring sold for USD 68,750.00 (€ 60,668.90) - well above the upper estimate of USD 35,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Dale William Nichols; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Farm Scene sold at auction in November 2021 with the realized price of USD 112,500.00 (€ 99,672.19).
