This artwork by Dale William Nichols achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in May 2018. In the American Art auction, the work Journey’S End sold for USD 106,250.00 (€ 91,045.42) - well above the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Dale William Nichols; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Farm Scene sold at auction in November 2021 with the realized price of USD 112,500.00 (€ 99,672.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 77 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Dale William Nichols erzielte im Mai 2018 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion American Art wurde die Arbeit Journey’S End für USD 106.250,00 (€ 91.045,42) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 60.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Dale William Nichols; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Farm Scene im November 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 112.500,00 (€ 99.672,19).
