This artwork by Dale William Nichols achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in May 2018. In the American Art auction, the work Journey’S End sold for USD 106,250.00 (€ 91,045.42) - well above the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Dale William Nichols; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Farm Scene sold at auction in November 2021 with the realized price of USD 112,500.00 (€ 99,672.19).
