In March 2015 Christies in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Looking Down the Clyde River to Dumbarton Rock by Cornelius Krieghoff. The result of USD 15,000.00 (€ 13,965.18) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cornelius Krieghoff achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Visitors In Winter in November 2012 with an auction result of CAD 221,000.00 (€ 171,041.43).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im März 2015 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Looking Down the Clyde River to Dumbarton Rock von Cornelius Krieghoff zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 13.965,18) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cornelius Krieghoff erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Visitors In Winter im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CAD 221.000,00 (€ 171.041,43).
