Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Cornelius Krieghoff achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in February 2021. In the Travel & Exploration auction, the work The Habitant sold for GBP 14,000.00 (€ 16,146.37) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cornelius Krieghoff achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Visitors In Winter in November 2012 with an auction result of CAD 221,000.00 (€ 171,041.43).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Cornelius Krieghoff erzielte im Februar 2021 bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Travel & Exploration wurde die Arbeit The Habitant für GBP 14.000,00 (€ 16.146,37) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cornelius Krieghoff erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Visitors In Winter im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CAD 221.000,00 (€ 171.041,43).
