Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work Four Putti Playing by Cornelis Troost. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,625.00 (€ 9,276.24) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cornelis Troost achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Drinkenburg' (The Morning After) in January 2019 with an auction result of USD 639,000.00 (€ 557,883.71).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Four Putti Playing von Cornelis Troost zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 10.625,00 (€ 9.276,24) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cornelis Troost erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'Drinkenburg' (The Morning After) im Januar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 639.000,00 (€ 557.883,71).
