The »bidding war« ended at USD 459,000.00 (€ 400,733.37), 53% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Cornelis Troost; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot 'Drinkenburg' (The Morning After) sold at auction in January 2019 with the realized price of USD 639,000.00 (€ 557,883.71).

Die Arbeit A Corps De Garde With Dutch Officers At Night von Cornelis Troost wurde im Januar 2019 in der Auktion Old Master Drawings bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 459.000,00 (€ 400.733,37) und damit 53% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Cornelis Troost; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit 'Drinkenburg' (The Morning After) im Januar 2019 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 639.000,00 (€ 557.883,71).
