Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Cornelis Troost achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in July 2021. In the A Fine Line: Master Works on Paper from Five Centuries auction, the work Scene from Thomas Asselyn’s Farce, 'Jan Claasz., or the Supposed Servant Girl' (Act III, scene VI) sold for GBP 157,500.00 (€ 184,701.41) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cornelis Troost - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Drinkenburg' (The Morning After), which sold at auction in January 2019 for USD 639,000.00 (€ 557,883.71).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Cornelis Troost erzielte im Juli 2021 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion A Fine Line: Master Works on Paper from Five Centuries wurde die Arbeit Scene from Thomas Asselyn’s Farce, 'Jan Claasz., or the Supposed Servant Girl' (Act III, scene VI) für GBP 157.500,00 (€ 184.701,41) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 70.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Cornelis Troost mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'Drinkenburg' (The Morning After) beobachtet, die im Januar 2019 für USD 639.000,00 (€ 557.883,71) versteigert wurde.
