Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2016 Phillips in New York held the auction New Now, which included the work Unconscious of a Monument by Cornelia Parker. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,500.00 (€ 3,114.43) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cornelia Parker achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Alter Ego (Mutiny) in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 32,500.00 (€ 46,074.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2016 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit Unconscious of a Monument von Cornelia Parker zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.500,00 (€ 3.114,43) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cornelia Parker erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Alter Ego (Mutiny) im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 32.500,00 (€ 46.074,08).
