Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Conrad Shawcross could be acquired at Christies in New York in August 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Horizon | Post-War and Contemporary Art auction, the work Picture of a Chord Falling into Silence (Ratio 2:1) changed hands for USD 1,375.00 (€ 1,185.75) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Conrad Shawcross achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Nervous System in October 2013 with an auction result of GBP 61,875.00 (€ 73,135.76).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Conrad Shawcross konnte im August 2018 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Horizon | Post-War and Contemporary Art wechselte die Arbeit Picture of a Chord Falling into Silence (Ratio 2:1) für USD 1.375,00 (€ 1.185,75) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Conrad Shawcross erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Nervous System im Oktober 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 61.875,00 (€ 73.135,76).
