In September 2005 Christies in London held the auction Travel and Natural History, which included the work The artist making sketches in the foot hills of the Himalayas by George Francis White. The result of GBP 600.00 (€ 880.54) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Francis White achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lieutenant-Colonel George Francis White (1808-1898) in July 2006 with an auction result of GBP 7,800.00 (€ 11,418.29).

Im September 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion Travel and Natural History durch, in der auch die Arbeit The artist making sketches in the foot hills of the Himalayas von George Francis White zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 600,00 (€ 880,54) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Francis White erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Lieutenant-Colonel George Francis White (1808-1898) im Juli 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.800,00 (€ 11.418,29).
