Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Gangoutri, source of the Ganges by George Francis White was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2003. It changed hands for a price of GBP 597.50 (€ 601.85) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Francis White achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lieutenant-Colonel George Francis White (1808-1898) in July 2006 with an auction result of GBP 7,800.00 (€ 11,418.29).
