Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work 'View on the Ganges, near Hurdwar' by George Francis White was auctioned at Bonhams in London in March last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 510.00 (€ 604.66). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Francis White achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lieutenant-Colonel George Francis White (1808-1898) in July 2006 with an auction result of GBP 7,800.00 (€ 11,418.29).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit 'View on the Ganges, near Hurdwar' von George Francis White im März letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 510,00 (€ 604,66) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Francis White erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Lieutenant-Colonel George Francis White (1808-1898) im Juli 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.800,00 (€ 11.418,29).
