Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2003 Christies in London held the auction British & Continental Watercolours including Original Book, which included the work Ruins Of A Palace At Rajmahal, On The Ganges, Near Patna by George Francis White. The price achieved of GBP 763.75 (€ 1,081.75) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 700.00 – 900.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Francis White achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lieutenant-Colonel George Francis White (1808-1898) in July 2006 with an auction result of GBP 7,800.00 (€ 11,418.29).

Im Dezember 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion British & Continental Watercolours including Original Book durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ruins Of A Palace At Rajmahal, On The Ganges, Near Patna von George Francis White zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 763,75 (€ 1.081,75) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 700,00 – 900,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Francis White erzielen.
