In September 2013 Christies in London held the auction Australian Art, which included the work Transit of Venus, 1986 by Colin Lanceley. The result of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,781.38) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Other works by Colin Lanceley have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in August 2004 the work Heroic Personage was auctioned for AUD 15,535.00 (€ 9,016.50).
