In the Exploration & Travel with Visions of India auction, the work Landscape and river scenes including; Indian figures at the entrance to a village; View of the mouth of the Ganges; A river lanscape; Temple on the Ganges; On the Sutlej river; On the Ganges; Taj Mahal, Agra; A coastal landscape sold for GBP 2,585.00 (€ 4,325.49) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Francis White - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lieutenant-Colonel George Francis White (1808-1898), which sold at auction in July 2006 for GBP 7,800.00 (€ 11,418.29).
