Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2009 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work The Baptism Of Christ by Claude Gillot. The price achieved of USD 17,500.00 (€ 13,667.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Claude Gillot have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Figures In An Elegant Interior Watching An Entertainment With Commedia Dell'Arte Characters in January 2016 with an auction result of USD 106,250.00 (€ 98,089.00).
