Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Sketch For A Fountain, Or A Theatrical Decoration by Claude Gillot was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,644.03). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claude Gillot achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Figures In An Elegant Interior Watching An Entertainment With Commedia Dell'Arte Characters in January 2016 with an auction result of USD 106,250.00 (€ 98,089.00).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Sketch For A Fountain, Or A Theatrical Decoration von Claude Gillot im Juli 2016 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.644,03) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Claude Gillot erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Figures In An Elegant Interior Watching An Entertainment With Commedia Dell'Arte Characters im Januar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 106.250,00 (€ 98.089,00).
