Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Winter Festival With Horsedrawn Sleighs And Figures On A Frozen River by Claude Gillot was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 20,400.00 (€ 15,694.72). Admittedly, works by Claude Gillot have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Figures In An Elegant Interior Watching An Entertainment With Commedia Dell'Arte Characters in January 2016 with an auction result of USD 106,250.00 (€ 98,089.00).

Als die Arbeit A Winter Festival With Horsedrawn Sleighs And Figures On A Frozen River von Claude Gillot im Januar 2007 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 20.400,00 (€ 15.694,72) den Besitzer.
