In February 2014 Christies in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Burro with Cart by Clark Hulings. The »bidding war« ended at USD 20,000.00 (€ 14,486.46), 67% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Clark Hulings have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Wash Day In The Pyrenees in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 133,000.00 (€ 85,475.58).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 67 % übertroffen
Im Februar 2014 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Burro with Cart von Clark Hulings zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 14.486,46) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Clark Hulings auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Wash Day In The Pyrenees im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 133.000,00 (€ 85.475,58).
