Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Red Swing Set (Brantôme) by Clark Hulings was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 56,250.00 (€ 48,295.70). Other works by Clark Hulings have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in May 2008 by the work Wash Day In The Pyrenees at USD 133,000.00 (€ 85,475.58).
