Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Old Noise by Clare Woods was sold in the Modern & Post-War British Art auction at Sothebys in London in November 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,250.00 (€ 6,053.49) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Clare Woods - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Black Vomit, which sold at auction in October 2015 for GBP 11,875.00 (€ 16,610.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Old Noise von Clare Woods wurde im November 2015 in der Auktion Modern & Post-War British Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.250,00 (€ 6.053,49) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Clare Woods mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Black Vomit beobachtet, die im Oktober 2015 für GBP 11.875,00 (€ 16.610,16) versteigert wurde.
