Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work “Untitled”, 2000 by Clare Woods was auctioned at Bruun Rasmussen in January 2024, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of DKK 10,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for DKK 7,000.00 (€ 6,117.81). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Clare Woods - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Black Vomit, which sold at auction in October 2015 for GBP 11,875.00 (€ 16,610.16).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit “Untitled”, 2000 von Clare Woods im Januar 2024 bei Bruun Rasmussen versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von DKK 10.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für DKK 7.000,00 (€ 6.117,81) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Clare Woods mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Black Vomit beobachtet, die im Oktober 2015 für GBP 11.875,00 (€ 16.610,16) versteigert wurde.
