Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2018 Phillips in London held the auction New Now, which included the work FONTES by Cildo Meireles. It changed hands for a price of GBP 18,750.00 (€ 20,889.16) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cildo Meireles achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rodos in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 641,000.00 (€ 583,045.30).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2018 führte Phillips in London die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit FONTES von Cildo Meireles zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 18.750,00 (€ 20.889,16) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cildo Meireles erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Rodos im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 641.000,00 (€ 583.045,30).
