Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (In Honor of Peter Hujar), from 1989 by Chuck Close was auctioned at Bonhams in Paris in October this year. The price achieved of USD 1,280.00 (€ 1,211.20) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chuck Close achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gwynne in May 2004 with an auction result of USD 2,807,500.00 (€ 2,298,027.34).
