Auction result well in line with expectations
The work St Ives, Cornwall by Christopher Wood was sold in the Modern British and Irish Art Evening Sale auction at Christies in London in March this year. The price achieved of GBP 226,800.00 (€ 258,028.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Christopher Wood - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Drying Sails, Mousehole, Cornwall, which sold at auction in June last year for GBP 479,100.00 (€ 556,577.92).

Die Arbeit St Ives, Cornwall von Christopher Wood wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art Evening Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 226.800,00 (€ 258.028,81) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben worden.
