Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Christopher Wood achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October last year. In the Modern British & Irish Art Evening Sale auction, the work Crocuses and Daffodils in Pots sold for GBP 289,800.00 (€ 337,613.79) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 100,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Christopher Wood; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Drying Sails, Mousehole, Cornwall sold at auction in June last year with the realized price of GBP 479,100.00 (€ 556,577.92).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Christopher Wood erzielte im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British & Irish Art Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit Crocuses and Daffodils in Pots für GBP 289.800,00 (€ 337.613,79) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 100.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Christopher Wood; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Drying Sails, Mousehole, Cornwall im Juni letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 479.100,00 (€ 556.577,92).
