Auction result well in line with expectations
In November last year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Flowers in a Blue Vase 35.9 x 30.1 cm. (14 1/8 x 11 7/8 in.) by Christopher Wood. The price achieved of GBP 69,600.00 (€ 80,650.51) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Christopher Wood have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Drying Sails, Mousehole, Cornwall in June last year with an auction result of GBP 479,100.00 (€ 556,577.92).
