Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work (i) A Slide of Hands (ii) Defending Decisions (iii) A Sacrifice on a Volcano by Christian Holstad was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 938.00 (€ 876.80). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christian Holstad achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Maid's Chariot in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 34,800.00 (€ 25,867.84).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit (i) A Slide of Hands (ii) Defending Decisions (iii) A Sacrifice on a Volcano von Christian Holstad im März 2017 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 938,00 (€ 876,80) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Christian Holstad erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Maid's Chariot im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 34.800,00 (€ 25.867,84).
