Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work San Bok Road by Choi So-Young was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2009, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 112,500.00 (€ 10,273.61). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Choi So-Young achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Snow Covered Landscape in May 2016 with an auction result of HKD 1,960,000.00 (€ 226,539.74).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit San Bok Road von Choi So-Young im Mai 2009 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 112.500,00 (€ 10.273,61) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Choi So-Young erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Snow Covered Landscape im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.960.000,00 (€ 226.539,74).
